Lost Baggage - Miscellaneous thoughts on Russia

There were several places we intended to visit but didn't. We never saw any of the muslim areas such as Kazan in Tatarstan because they were awkward to reach from the main Trans-Siberian line. It is supposed to have distinctive art, architecture, and cuisine. We also bypassed Ulan-Ude, a city near Mongolia which is a meeting place between Russians, Mongolians, and Buryats.

The next entries will describe individual cities. Last will be Germany and South Korea if I get around to it.
